INVITATION

 Sicily, for thousands of years, has always been the perfect country for different cultures to meet up and lends itself in an excellent way as a meeting point between different musical cultures.

This non-competitive International Choir Festival is open for polyphonic choirs, gospel choirs, male or female or mixed choirs, white voices choirs, alpine choirs, local parishes choirs and even children choirs. The participating choirs will have the opportunity to perform their own songs and hence spread their choral culture and traditions with the other participating choirs and the general public attending for the Festival.

Music has no limits. It connects people from all over the world, and sometimes can even overcome any language barriers. Choral music helps to express feelings in many different ways and bring cultures, even the most distant, closer together.

Eastern Sicily is well known to be a very popular tourist destination, both for the beautiful surrounding nature and even for the historic background of this area.

Three concerts will be organised in some of the most beautiful baroque churches in the region of Catania, Acireale and Taormina.

Local Sicilian Choirs will also participate.

Each choir will be able to perform in its own style, which must be religious/ sacred, given that the concerts will be held in churches.

Each choir can perform "a cappella", or accompanied by an organ or other musical instruments. The Organisation will arrange so that the church organ will be available for each performance. If the church organ, for some reason, cannot be used, it will be replaced by an electric piano/keyboard. Any other instrument must be brought by each choir. At the end of each Festival night, all participating choirs will unite and sing one song all together.

The group will be accommodated, based on the availability, in a 3 *** or 4 **** star Hotel on half board basis.

DRAFT FESTIVAL PROGRAMME

Thursday 26th October 2023

Possible arrival of certain groups and transfer to the Hotels.

Dinner at the Hotel.

Depending on the arrival time of the group, it will also be possible to organise an optional excursion to the famous Etna Volcano.

Friday 27th October 2023

Arrival of all other groups in the morning, (groups must arrive before 13:00).

Lunch at the Hotel.

In the evening, the first Festival night with the participation of local choirs also.

Saturday 28th October 2023

Breakfast at the Hotel

Free morning or possible optional excursions to Syracuse, Catania, Etna Volcano, Gole Alcantara, etc.

Lunch at the hotel.

In the evening, the second Festival night with the participation of local choirs also.

Sunday 29th October 2023

Breakfast at the Hotel.

Free morning or possible optional excursions to Syracuse, Catania, Etna Volcano, Gole Alcantara, etc.

Lunch at the hotel

In the evening, the Final Festival night with the participation of local choirs also. At the end of the concert, there will be official presentations to all participating choirs, by the Local Authorities.

Monday 30th October 2023

Departure of all groups. Depending on the departure time, it will also be possible to organise an optional excursion.

It is possible that due to flight itenaries, a group can arrive a day or more earlier or else depart a day or more later, than those indicated in the above programme

The above programme is only a draft and indicative one and may undergo changes due to organisational issues. The final programme with the exact venues and times of all performances will be issued after the Organisation conclude the list of participants, including the local ones

* If a group chooses the package with transfers included, kindly note that

included in this package/price is one transfer for the group to & from

the Catania Airport to the Hotel. No transfers can be made for

participants arriving at different times but we can arrange upon request.
