   With pleasure we INVITE you (Folk and Choral groups, orchestras, majorette teams), (children, youth and adults groups) to participate on second “International FETHIYE Folk Dance and Music festival” 21-25 September 2024, Fethiye, Turkey. 

This festival is the perfect occasion for different groups from various countries to gather together so that they could express their culture and nation through dances, music and interesting national costumes.

Fethiye is a well known province of Mugla city. It is located on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, 50 Km away from Dalaman airport. Fethiye is located on the old ancient city of “Telmessos” which you can see the ruins and theatre in the town. Town is popular with tourism and its amazing nature. Population of the Fethiye is around 115,000 and gets busy at summer season.In the legend “Telmessos” is described as the name of the son of God Apollo. He fells in love with the daughter of the King Agenor, the king of Phoenicia. He turns his self in to a small dog and gains the love of the withdrawn, shy daughter. Then appears as a handsome man and have the son named “Telmessos” which means “Land of the Lights”.The city became part of the Persian Empire 547 BC. “Telmessos” joined the “Attic Delos Union” established in 5th century BC. Later city left the union and became an independent city, continued its relations with the union until the 4th century BC. Nowadays Fethiye is a tourist town with its international atmosphere. There are 3 marinas in the town serves to international and local visitors and cruise ships. Town has everything that a tourist looks for. Delicious restaurants, great night life, history and nature, amazing bays, traditional markets and shops, daily excursions and activities and it is probably the only city in the world where you will find sarcophagus and lots of temples and ruins in the streets. The town also serves as an excellent base for touring the inland countryside, and is probably the only city in the world where you’ll find sarcophaguses in the streets.Paragliding Fethiye is one of the most popular places around Europe to try this extreme sport. The activity starts from Babadağ, a mountain around 1900 m high, and ends on the beach after a nice trip above Ölüdeniz. There are many schools and training centers which can provide training even for fresh beginners, or you are free to enjoy tandem flights which include the pilot and a passenger.  Oludeniz is one of the most important and top visited holiday destination of Turkey. With its amazing beach, nature and the turquoise clean waters its been popular by holidaymakers for many years. Mountain called “Babadag” where paragliders take off for an unforgettable flight is in Oludeniz area. General rules for participation: 

• In the festival can participate folklore groups, orchestras, majorettes, modern dance groups, choirs and music bands from all over the world.
• Non-competitive sample of traditional and modern dances, choral groups, majorette teams, orchestras, brass bands festival. 
• Ensemble should have prepared at least 2 dances, 08-12 minutes each with USB or orchestra. 
• Folklore groups should take a flag of their country and minimum 4 gifts for the municipality visits and organizers. 
• Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form. All filled in and signed applications will mean acceptance of the terms laid by the present regulation. 
• The number of the participants are limited (only 3 groups from each country).
• Groups have to send us short CV and few photos of the group by e-mail.
• Until 1st of September 2024 each group should send the list of participants, name/surname, sex, date of birth and passport number.
• Folklore groups should have there own transport for arrival and departure. 

Participation Fee:

• 119 Euro for 3FB per person (3 nights with 3 meals per day)
• 149 Euro for 4FB per person (4 nights with 3 meals per day)

It covers hotel accommodation with 3 meals per day in

• 145 Euro for 3FB per person (3 nights with 2 meals per day)
• 185 Euro for 4 FB per person (4 nights with 2 meals per day)

It covers hotel accommodation with  2 meals per day in 

4* Hotel Accommodation in Fethiye, Turkey, Hotel Marcan Beach Oludeniz Fethiye

• Addition day can be booked for 40 euro/person/day with full board service

• Groups of 25 persons: One group leader free of charge!

Participation Fee Includes: 

• Participation in the festival concerts,
• Professional sound, stage and light equipment. 
• Accommodation in 3* Hotels (3 bedded rooms, supplement for a double room is 7€/person/day, supplement for single room is 20€/person/day),
• Half Board hotel accommodation 
• Welcome cocktails with the leaders of the groups 
• Souvenir and gift for each group
• Certificate for attendance
• Drinks during the performance (water)

Participation Fee does not include: 

• Transport (for arrival and departure)

Invitation letter will be provided if needed 

Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form.  
Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment. 

Next payment of 20% for booking of accommodation needs to be sent to the organiser.

Rest of the sum will be paid before the beginning of the festival or upon arrival regarding the permission and agreement with organisers.
